Award recognizes Blue Coat solution as best for content filtering

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, February 28, 2011 – Blue Coat Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: BCSI), a leading provider of Web security and WAN optimization solutions, today announced that research firm Frost & Sullivan has awarded the Blue Coat® Secure Web Gateway solution its 2011 Global Product Differentiation Excellence Award in content filtering. Benchmarked across product and execution criteria, Blue Coat ranked higher than its top two competitors in four of the five categories and tied in the remaining one.

In selecting the Blue Coat Secure Web Gateway solution, Frost & Sullivan examined the top three competitors in the market and ranked them on unique features and functionality, quality and complexity, customization, brand perception of the uniqueness of the product and matching product to market needs. In features and functionality and matching product to market needs, Blue Coat scored a nine out of 10, above other competitors.

“Against the backdrop of a dynamic threat landscape, enterprises are searching for the best protection and greatest flexibility when implementing content security solutions,” said Martha Vazquez, analyst at Frost & Sullivan. “Through our research and ranking process, we recognize that the Blue Coat Secure Web Gateway solution delivers excellence in the industry and is the best practice for content security.”

According to the research conducted by Frost & Sullivan for the Award, “Blue Coat’s hybrid design is unique and adds value to its customers by detecting two times Web threats over some competitors. It also offers comprehensive Web awareness and protection due to its 70 plus million users within their cloud community.”

“The survey conducted by Frost & Sullivan extends beyond just products and features to get at the heart of what customers look for in security solutions,” said Nigel Hawthorn, VP EMEA Marketing, Blue Coat Systems. “We are proud to win this award, which validates that the Blue Coat Secure Web Gateway solution delivers the flexibility, quality and performance organizations require to meet their new Web security challenges.”

By uniting more than 70 million users in a community defense, the WebPulse service has comprehensive intelligence about the Web ecosystem that it uses to identify malware and other malicious content.

CTO Edge Recognizes the New Brocade VDX 6720 Data Center Switches as Heralding Fundamental Changes to Data Center Networks

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates- January 19, 2011 – Brocade (NASDAQ:BRCD) was awarded the “Most Important Enterprise IT Product for 2010” for the Brocade® VDX™ 6720 Data Center Switches by CTO Edge, a publication of IT Business Edge. The Brocade VDX 6720 is the industry’s first true Ethernet fabric switch that is purpose-built for highly virtualized and cloud-optimized data centers.

“From an enterprise IT perspective, the honor of having the most important enterprise IT product of 2010 goes to Brocade for its Brocade VDX 6720 Data Center Switches. While the Brocade VDX 6720 may not be the most famous product of 2010, the Brocade One architecture signals a new era in data center management,” said Mike Vizard, Contributing Editor at CTO Edge, in his online remarks. “Rather than requiring customers to standardize a particular set of servers, storage and networking gear from one vendor to lower operating costs, the Brocade VDX 6720 signals the embedding of management intelligence at Layer 2 of the network. And while most IT organizations have yet to appreciate the impact of this fundamental change to networking in the data center, this offering heralds a change in the way we think about managing data centers for years to come.”

“This recognition is a tremendous honor and validation that the Brocade VDX 6720 switches with Brocade VCS™ technology are a game-changing innovation in the delivery of true cloud-optimized networking,” said John McHugh, Chief Marketing Officer at Brocade. “As Mr. Vizard notes, the Brocade VDX 6720 Data Center Switches are a new family of 10 Gigabit Ethernet offerings that revolutionize Layer 2 Ethernet networking to provide virtual machines with a greater sphere of mobility, increase network utilization, create more resilient networks and most importantly, simplify the management of data center networks.”

Whether organizations want to enhance their classic hierarchical network architectures, deploy flatter scale-out fabrics for virtualized data centers, or converge networks, the Brocade VDX 6720 delivers the innovative technology to enhance and simplify their networks.

The Brocade VDX 6720 Data Center Switches are available in one- or two-rack-unit (1U or 2U) form factors and provide the ability to scale from 16 to 60 ports with pay-as-you-grow Ports on Demand (PoD) licensing. The switches provide full 10 gigabits per second (Gbps) wire-speed performance from any port to any port, with latency of 600 nanoseconds (ns). The switches are based on low-latency, lossless, 10 Gbps Data Center Bridging (DCB) technology and are capable of running all types of data and storage traffic—including traditional IP, iSCSI, CIFS, NFS and Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE). The Brocade VDX 6720 switches protect existing investments by supporting current server, hypervisor and storage solutions, and by seamlessly interfacing with existing network infrastructures.

The Interactive Intelligence communications-as-a-service solution wins Best of Show award for “most innovative service”

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Dec. 16, 2010 – The Interactive Intelligence (Nasdaq: ININ) cloud-based communications-as-a-service solution has received ITEXPO West’s 2010 Best of Show award in the category of “most innovative service.”

The award, which was announced at Technology Marketing Corp.’s (TMC) ITEXPO, recognizes the product or service that stands out from the competition based on technological achievement and creative features, according to TMC CEO and group editor-in-chief, Rich Tehrani.

“The Interactive Intelligence CaaS solution won our Best of Show award because it delivers a hosted service that addresses primary buyer concerns of control, security, reliability and flexibility,” Tehrani said. “Interactive Intelligence accomplishes this by offering a unique hosted delivery model that enables customers to keep their voice traffic on their network, and record and store all recordings inside their firewall. The solution also features isolated virtualized servers, and the option to migrate from a hosted to a premise-based solution without the need to re-write applications.”

The Interactive Intelligence CaaS solution, called CaaS Contact Center, is a hosted, cloud-based set of on-demand services. It includes the following features: interactive voice response, multichannel routing and recording, screen-pop, outbound and blended dialing, quality monitoring, workforce management, desktop call control, desktop faxing, unified messaging, and presence management. It also offers a single Web portal for centralized end-user administration, configuration and billing.

“We hope this award creates greater awareness among buyers that they can enjoy all the advantages of a hosted solution without sacrificing the functionality, control, security, reliability and flexibility of a premise-based solution,” said Shaheen Haque, Territory Manager, Middle East and Turkey, Interactive Intelligence.

For more information about CaaS Contact Center, visit www.inin.com/ProductSolutions/Pages/Communications-as-a-Service.aspx. For educational information to help buyers determine if a CaaS solution is right for them, visit www.caas.com/Pages/default.aspx.

The ITEXPO Best of Show awards recognize innovative products and services that were featured in the exhibit hall during the event. INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine editorial staff evaluated the pre-show nominations, and met with vendors to inspect and review the displayed products and services on the first day of the Expo. A full list of the winners is posted on TMC’s website at www.tmcnet.com.

12/1/2010 Amman – Kuwait: Dr. Khalil Abul, H.H. Sheik Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Informatics Award Manager, stated that registration in “Informatics Award” for this year is still available for participants from all over the Arab World, and remains open until Sunday, 31st of January via the award’s website www.Alsabahaward.org.

Abul prompted those interested in informatics and digital outlets to register as quickly as possible, noting that the award consists of eight different capacities: Individuals, Civil Society, Private Sector, Government, Education, Health, Media & Communications, and Culture; all of which are related to informatics’ development and enhancement.

With three hundred and seventy thousand Dollars divided on the participating websites, H.H. Sheik Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Informatics Award is considered the most significant informatics Award in the Arab World. Winners will be honored in the annual celebration conducted under the sublime patronage and generous attendance of the Emir of Kuwait, H.H. Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

Abul said “the Award took an articulate operational methodology by concentrating on three major tracks. The first track represents the “Informatics Awards” which varies between monetary and other in-kind awards presented to individuals as well as private and public organizations. The Informatics Awards also include the “Kuwait Award”, aimed at individual non-Arab websites and projects owners who reside in Kuwait.”

He added “the Informatics Awards also include the “Arab World Award” which clears the path of competition to all organizations in the Arab countries, along with individual Arab researchers, websites, and projects owners who reside anywhere in the world. Another side of Informatics Awards is the “Recognition Award” in which an owner, being a body or an individual, of a distinctive and creative project, in the digital and informatics fields, can be nominated by filling a form on the Awards’ website, or by emailing the Awards’ management throughout the year. This award includes the “Informatics Medal”, which is the highest and loftiest recognition award given, annually, to an individual or a body who’s distinguished themselves with a notable work and a memorable presence in the informatics development field.”

Among the Recognition Awards there is also the “Informatics Shield” presented to bodies or organizations with innovative achievements in the digital and informatics field, as well as the “Informatics Pendant” given to distinguished individuals in the same fields.

Abul explained that the second track for the Award is the “Informatics Development”. Its purpose is to spread informatics culture and achieve a development that is comprehensive and integral between individuals and organizations by supporting training centers, setting up seminars and assemblies, as well as offering programs that contribute to various digital services quality development. “Informatics Assembly, Informatics Culture Series, and Voluntary Work System” are some of the most important activities in this track.

The third track is “Informatics Knowledge”. Its aim is to expose the civilized face of the Arab World in the informatics field and render the digital public data pertaining to individuals and organizations, covering the entire Arab countries, available to researchers and those interested easily, precisely, and in a comprehensive way. The first activity in this track has already been launched; it is a digital guide which consists of a series of indexes with information on civil, governmental, and private organizations specialized in informatics, located in either in Kuwait or the Arab World. Other activities are Specialists Index, Organizations Index, Individuals Index, Informatics Library, and the E-Forum.

It is worth mentioning that H.H. Sheik Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Informatics Award was launched in the year 2001, assuming Kuwait as headquarter for their activities which covers all the Arab countries, out of which a huge number of participants have won in the previous years.

- Ends –
