Imdaad marks success of Beati environment campaign- Contest winning children cheered at colorful ceremony

Dubai, United Arab Emirates:

Imdaad, the leading integrated facilities management solutions providers in the UAE, marked the huge success of its ambitious environment protection initiative for children, Beati, at a colourful ceremony on Tuesday (December 22) held at Ibn Battuta Mall, the popular shopping and leisure destination.

The ceremony saw winners of the Beati drawing competition receiving presents, mementoes and certificates. A large crowd of children, parents and officials from schools, Dubai municipality, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) and Imdaad attended the function and lauded the participants.

The drawing contest on the theme of environment protection was a major part of Beati, which is supported by Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), Dubai Municipality and Union Paper Mills.

Jamal Lootah, Chief Executive Officer of Imdaad, said: “It was a great occasion to celebrate the success of Beati in the company of children who were the real carriers of the campaign. Over the past several months, this awareness initiative successfully integrated hundreds of children in Dubai schools on the serious issue of environment protection. The programme is close to Imdaad’s heart as we consider it our responsibility to add green value in everything we do.”

Imdaad launched Beati in Dubai schools in April 2009 with the aim of spreading environment awareness at grass root level. Under the slogan “My environment, B’cos I want my world,” the campaign laid stress on “Reduce, Reuse and Recycle,” three activities that require concerted efforts to bring about dramatic and positive changes to the environment.

The FM service leader created “Khaddour,” the fun-loving “green leaf” character to encourage children’s involvement, particularly in recycling. The mascot character is themed on “Green,” inspiring children through a coloruing competition where a hidden symbol highlights the object to be recycled.

Practical educational activities such as working sessions and lectures by experts, quiz competitions and film shows on subjects related to environment were also part of Beati.

Beati is the campaign part of Imdaad’s enhanced focus on environment in its FM operations. The company expanded its service footprint across the UAE with added emphasis on environment-friendly methods in order to support the country’s sustainability drive.

Imdaad’s client base includes major corporate and service establishments such as Nakheel, Jafza, DP World – UAE Region, Dubai Properties, Dubai Customs, Limitless, Tanmiyat and Tamweel. Among major projects on its portfolio are Palm Jumeirah, World Trade Centre, The Gardens, Atlantis, Jumeirah Golf Estate, International City, Jebel Ali Port and Free Zone and Wasl, the asset management group of Dubai real Estate Corporation (DREC), along with shopping malls like Ibn Batuta Mall, Dragon Mall, and many more.
