Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 28 April, 2009: Visitors to Scotland this year – many of whom will travel to Homecoming Scotland 2009, a yearlong events programme celebrating Scotland’s great contributions to the world in sport, culture, and cuisine – will find that their flights, accommodation, and transport can be arranged easily and affordably through Emirates Holidays, the tour-operating arm of Emirates Airline.
VisitBritain, the governmental body responsible for promoting the United Kingdom as a world-class tourist destination, has joined forces with VisitScotland, the Scottish Tourist Board, to promote its wide variety of holiday offerings at the annual Emirates Holidays World, a three-day interactive travel event at the InterContinental Hotel Convention Centre, Dubai Festival City from 1 – 3 May.
“Scotland’s diversity as a tourist destination is enormous; there really is something for everyone,” Carol Maddison, VisitBritain’s Marketing Manager, UAE.
“From great minds and innovations to rich culture and heritage, Scotland Homecoming 2009 will be an ongoing celebration of all that the country continues to bring to the world. And now, with Emirates Airlines’ non-stop flights to Glasgow, Scotland’s wonders are even closer,” added Maddison.
The annual Emirates Holidays World is an opportunity for bringing the brochure to life for consumers and travel agents who will be able to learn more about destinations and related holiday activities.
At this year’s event, VisitBritain and VisitScotland will share an exhibition stand highlighting the Homecoming Scotland 2009 theme. They will joined on the stand by Hotelbeds, Emirates Holidays’ UK ground handlers who will be promoting United Kingdom product.
Visitors may attend on 1 May; however, 2 and 3 May attendance is reserved for trade visitors.
